Magical Tamara – Glass Designed by Tamara Aladin
May 24–September 28, 2025

Tamara Aladin (1932–2019) was one of Riihimäen Lasi Oy’s most prolific designers. She was known especially for her rich use of colour, distinctive treatment of form.

Aladin designed household glassware and most of the vases in the factory’s export range. Aladin’s style was described as “graceful, practical and elegant”. Her glassware was sophisticated but functional, making an attractive addition to every home. A large number of her designs were in production especially in the 1960s.

This exhibition presents Aladin’s household glassware and export items along with a selection of her art glass, early ceramics and a small sample of her unique art objects. The exhibition presents works from the Finnish Glass Museum rounded out by loans from two major Finnish private collections. The exhibition architecture is designed by Linda Bergroth.
