Exhibition: Jasmin Anoschkin – Candy Animals

Jasmin Anoschkin – Candy Animals
May 24–September 21, 2025
Jasmin Anoschkin (b.1980) is a sculptor best known for her colourful and captivating ceramic creations. Imaginative playfulness also characterises her glass and wooden sculptures, paintings and video art. Noted also for her public commissions, Anoschkin has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Finland and internationally. She is represented in many major Finnish art collections.
Candy Animals presents a cavalcade of uncanny creatures matched in whimsy by their absurd yet perfectly logical titles. Olympic Mascot Testosterone-Tyyne, Kissy-Lips Hot-Dog on Duck Feet, Lion Wannabe Unicorn in Vantaa Windbreaker and Limoncello Bambi invite viewers into an imaginative world that is uniquely Anoschkin’s.
Her extravagant menagerie introduces a wondrous array of curious new creatures, who appear alongside familiar acquaintances from her earlier oeuvre. Some of the glass sculptures are previously unseen works that were made especially for this spring 2025 exhibition. The exhibition has been supported by: the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike), the Finnish Cultural Foundation, the Alfred Kordelin Foundation, and the Finnish Heritage Agency.
